CURVACEOUS CONFIDENCE

Subtle rocker in the standing platform transitions into the unique “Whale Belly” spoon concave in the nose, which locks in the front foot and allows for a secure stance behind or on top of the truck. This also wedges the front truck for dramatically enhanced agility, resulting in a slalom-style steering bias that allows the more stable rear end to track the more nimble front end.

VERSATILE VARIATIONS

The Ballona includes two wheelbase options for a range of performance characteristics. The outer (16″) wheelbase is designed for reverse-kingpin trucks and/or more stability, while the inner (14.75″) wheelbase is intended for traditional-kingpin (street) trucks and/or more maneuverability.

CLASSIC LAYUP WITH A TWIST

Custom 7-ply maple construction with thicker cross veneers for optimal stiffness, crisp pop, and a smooth ride.

GRAPHICS

Tomás Güereña (a.k.a. “screw”) is influenced by Robert Delaunay, cosmological geometry, Native American art, contemporary urban art, and the marine environment. He created the Willy and Moby Ballona graphics, respectively, through abstract and figurative approaches.

MANEUVERABLE & COMPACT

The Ballona’s mild concave and generous width ensure a comfortable stance and plenty of leverage and control. A short, wide tail and minimal nose provide optimal maneuverability and leverage for slides and tricks in a compact package.

Reviews

"This is the most fun little deck I’ve ever purchased. I slapped on some Fat Free 83a for controlled release, and swopped out the bushings for soft/medium (knuckle/knuckle) up front and medium/hard (knuckle/nipple) in back, and it rides like a mini driveway surfskate!"

"Great design! High quality deck."

Jose (5/5)

"Very specific type of setup. Came extremely fast, and well packaged with some extra stickers! Definitely do your research before hand as it is quite different from your typical setup"

Jake (5/5)

"Super cool artwork"

Caleb (5/5)

"Trucks are slightly misaligned, not the biggest deal but I expected better from such a high tier company"

Murray (4/5)

good compact board

"Unlike the popular mini cruisers, this board has a larger wheelbase, which makes the trip as comfortable as possible. I moved from omakase, for short trips, and it was very comfortable. Plus easier to carry in your hands."

Kostiantyn (5/5)

Ballona Longboard

"Very fun board that is different from anything I've ridden before"

William H. (5/5)

"Just got the board shipped today and i must say it surprised me a lot with how smooth the feel is. I enjoyed the fat free wheels and the lightweight feel it gives off. Although i got this board shipped out the day the rumblebee came out i feel like this board exceeded my expectations! 10/10 cant wait to buy from loaded again!"

David (5/5)

So nice, I acquired it twice

"So good, I bought it twice. One is a monster truck on 77a Dad Bods/CX that rolls over everything and is easy to slide, the other is set up in a 50/44 Paris 180’s on 4Prez. The second setup is surprisingly pumpable, the first feels like a bit to bring it to speed, then good brother intertia kicks in. I love the feel of this board underfoot. It’s great with surf skate trucks as well as with Paris 50/44. Bravo, Loaded! This board is hella fun"

"Love it"

Q&A

Can we order a set-up that swaps the default deck + trucks/wheels pairing? For example: Moby deck + orange bushings and love handles? Thanks!
Yes, absolutely! All our deck pages have a "BUILD YOUR OWN CUSTOM COMPLETE" button immediately underneath the "Add to Cart". At the build your own you can choose between deck graphics, flex, trucks, wheels and bushings.
Would this deck be suitable with surf trucks? Something like yow?
With a pronounced tail on the Ballona, it shortens the wheelbase. A surf-skate set-up may only be comfortable for those with some experience, as you will have a very narrow stance.
Do the trucks require risers when purchasing the deck only?
Unfortunately depends on your truck and wheel. For Paris 150mm RKP trucks no risers for 65mm and smaller wheels. 70mm wheels require 1/4" risers, 75mm & 80mm wheels 3/8", and 85mm require 1/2" risers. Contact us at dontwalk@loadedboards.com for specific information on your setup.
Сan i use Paris 180 50° trucks and In-Heat wheels with this deck? What else is needed for this setup?
180mm trucks are wide for this deck if used in combination with a wide wheel like the In-Heat. Generally you would want to get close to lining up the edge of the board to the outside of the wheel. If the wheels are too far out there's a good possibility of kicking them while pushing. 150mm is the best size.
When buying deck only, does it include griptape? Great looking board:)
Yes, our decks include grip tape!
