Loaded began in Los Angeles in the mid-90s, with a simple itch: bring the feeling of surfing and snowboarding to pavement.

We scavenged Krypto Classics, Krypto 85s, and Bones Hardcore wheels, bolted trucks to every scrap of wood and every old snowboard we could get our hands on, and rode the results until something clicked. After a lot of trial and error, we made it official in September 2000.

In June 2002 our first board rolled out the door: the Vanguard, a flexy bamboo composite that carved and pumped like nothing else on the road. We've been designing in California ever since, and every board still gets ridden hard before it ships.

A board has to ride right before anything else matters. The numbers are the truth underneath the feeling.

Our decks are built from composite layups that come alive underfoot: a vertically laminated bamboo core for the living spring in the flex, triaxial fiberglass for torsional stability and pop, basalt for targeted stiffness, and Super Sap, our bio-based epoxy bond. We're devotees of functionally driven design and committed to environmentally conscious production, because the devil really is in the details.

Every product is led by a small in-house team, pressure-tested by the whole crew and our riding ambassadors, then ridden into the ground before it earns a name.

We've built a tight-knit crew of riders who share one common passion: getting weird and having fun on a board.

That circle reaches well past our walls. It includes the vendors we trust, the ambassadors who put our boards through it, and the shops and distributors worldwide who are our partners in irreverence. We put out a coherent ideology, and the people who get it are drawn in and become part of the dialogue.
