Long Treks, Episode 12: Torture by Pavement

on 07/01/2011, 11:02.

Waking up in a field with barking dogs we make way on the most horrible pavement known to man, painfully getting closer to Bolivia.  Stoke is low as the pavement drains our energy and our soul.  We question if it is even worth it, but we love bad decisions and push onwards in mental pain.  Outside of Puno we get desperate and try to buy a broken boat from the local fishing community.  We want to ditch the pavement and paddle to Copacabana, Bolivia across Lake Titicaca.  Bargaining takes place but in the end it was all a dream - no boat.  We walk sadly back to the horrible pavement and cry. A tragic thing happens; Adam’s board will never be the same again.

This episode is a mental struggle.  The beginning of Episode 12 shows a bit of camp life, waking up slowly in the morning, eating some breakfast. Aaron and I goofing off recapping the day that happened yesterday.

We skated some horrible pavement in this Episode but the thing is the most horrible bits were not documented because we were concentrating on not going crazy rather than filming.  Episode 13 coming up is one of my favorites.

Enjoy,

Adam C.
