We all know that girls just wanna have fun! So let me welcome you to the very first all ladies She-ride!
It all started on Saturday July 28th. Myself and fellow team takes forever member, Alicia Fillback of course didn’t make it on time for the riders meeting that began at 9:30 am. We did however arrive right when we said we would! That was at noon thirty.
Runs had already begun and with giggles of excitement and quick hellos to the ladies we wasted no time getting our helmets, gloves and pads on. This was not my first time skating Maryhill, but it was my first time at a freeride. Even though the back of a u-haul feels like an oven while you’re standing there packed in like sardines, it’s way more luxurious and easy on the legs than hiking. I’m use to workin real hard for runs at Maryhill but that day I was feeling spoiled for sure!
The smooth ride and the fresh air felt amazing as I got lifted up to the top. We stopped here n there at random corners to drop off girls who didn’t feel comfortable with starting all the way up there.
The u-haul stopped and to my surprise the first one out and pushing down the road was the cutest little 9yr old girl!

Everyone watch out for this one! Guaranteed you’ll be seeing more of her. Big thanks to Carly Richardson for providing the rad leathers for her to rock!
When you get to the top of Maryhill the first thing you do is stop and look at the amazing view. Taking in a deep breath and absorbing my surroundings I threw my board on the ground and it was lift off time! Took my first run with my best friend and coasted down the road with a huge smile on my face. I felt so worry free and relaxed.
Never in my life have I been to an event and skated with so many girls at once. Pretty much a dream come true!

Too bad I didn’t bring a dress..or maybe it’s a good thing? I heard one of the ladies got their dress caught in their wheels. Ouch!
So many stoked females! Lot’s of pack runs and lurk sessions goin down all throughout the day. I had the pleasure of meeting lots of girls I had only known via Facebook such as fellow Otang Ambassador Cindy Zhou, Molly Lewis, Possala Wang, and a bunch more!
Run after run and many bottles of water later….

Big shout out to Brad at Riptide Bushings! He was a big sponsor and a big help to the ladies who need some good bushings and info about them.
If you had runs going all day I bet most everyone would be skating till their legs fell off. Myself probably not. After a while my legs get a bit wobbly and wanna chill, but hats off to those who took every run everyday.

Anyone want some swag? High fives to all the ladies who showed up and brought their great vibes and awesome personalities. You all rock!
Two jam packed days of stoke, sweat, road rash, broken bones and one killer party! I think it’s safe to say the ladies she-ride was a huge success. Every girl there came and left with a smile and many new stories to tell for the rest of their days. Can’t wait till the next one!
Here is a video shot and edited by Cindy Zhou, Enjoy!
